Good Shepherd recognises the mutual benefit that is developed through interaction between the school and the wider community. There are a number of ways relationships are fostered with families, organisations and communities connected with the College.听
Good Shepherd has a strong focus on developing the partnership between home and school. Volunteers are welcomed into the classrooms and are valued for their contribution. There is a strong sense of community within the College which is greatly aided by various initiatives such as 'Class Carers' who plan social events and support families.听
Anyone employed or volunteering in 'child-related' work is required by law to hold an NT Ochre Card, which is photo ID proof they have passed the Working With Children Clearance screening process and received a Clearance Notice.
Valuing Safe Communities
Valuing Safe Communities (VSC) is a training course developed by Lutheran Education Australia (LEA) for all adults who are involved with students in Lutheran schools in any way. The parent course goes for one hour and after completion, accreditation lasts for three years. It is a requirement of LEA and our College that parents who participate in school activities such as camps, reading and helping in class, sports team coaching, etc, are all up to date with this training. VSC sessions are regularly held throughout the year - usually online. For more information, please contact the College: 8983 0300 / email@example.com
